Meet Our Wonderful Staff
Amy Leyva
Amy is a mother of four young children and has a bachelors in Sociology with an emphasis in Child Development. She started Tiny Turtles in 2016 and has been the lead teacher ever since. Amy has many years of experience working with young children through the Alameda Parks & Recreation as a preschool teacher. Amy has been a substitute teacher for the last few years in the Alameda and San Leandro school districts. She has also worked as a nanny for many families with children aging from infant to five years old. She is committed to helping young creative minds reach their full potential.
Katya Jaber
Katya is a student at Sonoma State University, currently working on her Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. She enjoys being with children of all ages and adds a youthful perspective to the program. The children love her and her energetic personality. Katya has helped in the Tiny Turtle program for a couple of summers previously and is now a consistent employee with us every Wednesday and Friday. Other than working with Luann and Amy, Katya also volunteers at Otis Elementary and is a nanny for families in Alameda.
